We want to share the magic of analog photography with everyone, but we understand that it can be a bit intimidating at first. Every darkroom is different, and we believe that education is critical to a rewarding printing and processing experience, so we are pleased to offer private lessons and group workshops in black and white film processing and basic black and white printing.
Film Photography 101: Group Workshop (4 student max)
Learn the basics of film photography in one session in a full day crash course on analog photography that will cover camera basics including loading film, f-stops, shutter speeds, composition, lighting. One roll of film and all chemistry is included.

Darkroom Printing 101: Group Workshop (2 student max)
Learn the basics of darkroom printing in one session in a full day crash course that covers basics including mixing chemistry, using the enlarger, types of paper, enlarging negatives, making contact sheets, test strips for exposure, and safe handling of completed prints.

Basic Film Processing: Private Lesson
Learn how to process black and white film in this three hour course that covers film loading, mixing chemistry, processing, and proper washing and drying techniques.

Basic Black and White Printing: Private Lesson
Learn how to use our Beseler 67c enlarger to create a contact sheet or an 8x10 print. In three hours, we will discuss how to choose the right lens for your film and print size, how to mix chemistry, processing prints, and proper washing and drying techniques.

Darkroom Basics: Private Lesson
Learn the ins-and-outs of our darkroom! This course is a combination of the Basic Film Processing and Basic Black and White Printing courses. Users who complete this course will receive two free hours of darkroom time.
