FEBRUARY EDITION “Untitled” by Meredith Magnolia. 8x10 archival silver gelatin print from 35mm black and white negative.

Bio: Meredith was born in Reading Pennsylvania and is currently drifting from place to place along the Pennsylvania coast. Her main source of creating is photography; although in the past year writing has become a lifeline, and she is starting to explore painting, singing, and songwriting.

Artist Statement: I live to create. And I believe rest and creating are one in the same. Rest and creating are how we see ourselves and those around us for who we all truly are. I am constantly learning how to better take care of myself and because of that, how to better care for anyone alongside me. I know that rest and creating are ultimately one thing; beauty. Beauty is at the footprint of our very beings, at the fingertips of every reach. To see ourselves for who we are, is to see our beauty in every moment. I find myself desiring to create and share beauty more and more. The more I see every moment for what it is, the more I am able to get lost in it, the more I feel I am escaping from the lie we have been given. I believe that to be truly free is to see the beauty given to us in every moment. To know, we are safe in every moment. To know we are all seeking the same things, for others to see that we are nothing other than beauty and safety.

My art says a lot to me, and teaches me a lot, and the main thing I have been learning from myself through it is that everything; every thing is the same as me; is beautiful or hurting or desiring or scared or ignited. Can I look at us all, at it all, and just see a new piece of myself in you? Teach me something about me.
